Get the Home Ready Before Your Belongings Arrive

Moving into a new place comes with a long list of details. Glow Team Cleaning can discuss cleaning before you unpack, based on the property condition and the tasks you want considered.
Share the date you expect to receive the keys and when furniture will arrive. That timeline helps set the context for access and the service you are requesting.

    Use the Open-Space Window

If the property is still empty, floors and other surfaces may be easier to reach. Tell the team how long the home will be available before movers or deliveries arrive.
Mention any scheduled repairs or other work happening first. When several people need access, their timing can affect the cleaning window.

    Describe the Property Condition

A home may be vacant, recently maintained, or in need of more attention after the previous occupant. Describe what you have noticed and point out the rooms you want included.

If you have care instructions for particular finishes or surfaces, share them before the visit. Specific information helps clarify what you are asking the team to handle.

    Choose What Matters Before Unpacking

You may want to prioritize the kitchen, bathrooms, floors, or rooms where furniture will soon be placed. Explain which tasks would make the space feel ready for your arrival.
If there are more requested tasks than the available time allows, rank them in order of importance. The team can review the priorities with you before confirming the scope.

Confirm the Plan Before Moving Day

Review the agreed tasks and access arrangements before the appointment. Keep the list handy as you coordinate key pickup, movers, and deliveries.
Moving plans can change at short notice, so let Glow Team Cleaning know if the property’s condition or access window shifts. The team can then discuss the updated details with you.

One of the best things you can do is make sure there is as little clutter as possible. The cleaners will need to have access to surfaces to clean and if they are covered up by too much clutter, they may be inaccessible. Communicate with your cleaner(s) when they arrive (if you are home) and plan to make sure the cleaner has space to clean. Children, pets and other adults in the way can really hinder a job from being done in the best way possible. It can also be hazardous. Vacuum cords, cleaning products and supplies will be in the area with the cleaner and to mitigate accidents from happening it’s best to give them space.

It is completely up to you. If you will not be home, please provide clear access instructions, including any gate codes, lockbox details, keys, or alarm information. All cleaners follow our onboarding and insurance requirements.
